Point Reyes Blue and Riesling

Sometimes the best things in life are simple, uncomplicated, and utterly delicious. When it comes to pairing wine and cheese, often two ingredients marry to become something even more spectacular. In this case a sweet-style, late harvest Riesling with one of my all-time favorite selections of blue cheese. Point Reyes Blue is beautiful to look at and delicious to eat.

croque Monsieur at Alesia in St. Petersburg

Not just a grilled cheese, the croque monsieur is the grande dame of classic grilled cheese. At Alesia’s in St. Petersburg they use Gruyere (the best cheese in the world). The whole sandwich smells of butter from the moment it approaches the table. Alesia has a great wine list. For the perfect taste of France, dine on the patio and try one of their refreshing French rose’ wines.

This is my absolute favorite pizza at Pan Y Vino. It is topped with Fig Preserves, Goat cheese, Arugula, and we always ask them to add some prosciutto.
